How to Document an Activity

In Ladderocity, documenting activities helps create a clear, ongoing record of important interactions, expectations, and performance-related events.

How to Add a New Activity

  1. Click “Add Activity”
From the main dashboard, click the Add Activity button to open the activity form.

  2. Select an Activity Type
Choose from your department’s customizable list of activity types (e.g., Policy Discussion, Salute, Disciplinary Action).

  3. Choose the Date
Enter the date the activity occurred.

  4. Select Involved Member(s)
Select the employee(s) associated with the activity. Multiple members can be included if needed.

  5. Tag Relevant Competencies
Link the activity to one or more competencies. This ties the documentation to the skills and behaviors your department is actively tracking.

  6. Enter a Description
Write a clear summary of the activity. Be sure to include:

    • What happened

    • Why it’s important

    • Any relevant context or outcomes

  7. Attach Files (Optional)
Add supporting documents or format the text if necessary.

  8. Submit the Activity
Click Submit to save. The activity will be stored in the selected member(s)’ file(s) for future reference.

If you'd like to reference a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), policy, or other external document, use the link option in the formatting toolbar of the description field. This allows you to add clickable URLs for quick access to important resources right from the activity record.
